Stupid prank!!!

Don't ask me why, but my husband persuaded me that instead of a conventional wedding list from John Lewis we should do something a bit different. My mind was taken up with so many other arrangements that i agreed and we did this 'Wedding Gift Chain Letter'.
Basically it was an envelope containing photos and details cut out of the Next and Habitat catalogues. The idea was that guests receivedthe envelope, had a look through at the various gifts and chose what they could afford - then took out that item, and posted the envelope on to the next guest.
This was a good idea in principle and we got lots of compliments on doing something a bit different. What we didn't realise was that one of the guests - my sister's boyfriend at the time - decided to play a practical joke on us. He got hold of another copy of the Habitat catalogue and cut out a lot of items from this - and put them in the envelope. These were things we didn't know about, and certtainly did not need or want!
All the guests who received the envelop after him had no idea that these were 'fake items' and they bought some of them for us.
We basically ended up with about a dozen items that were basically CRAP. (I hope I can say crap on this site). These included several garden accessories including a large umbrella (we live on the third floor in a flat), four sets of nestled tables (how many nestled tables do you need!!!), and some bright red chinaware that clashed with our decoration.
We didn't realise what had happened until about three weeks after our honeymoon when the culprit owned-up. He thought it was the funniest thing ever - my sister was embarrassed - and I went balistic.
I managed to exchange the items but it didn't matter - the broigus was in place!!
I refused to have him in the house for about six months but it didn't matter as they split up later.
PS If anyone's getting married, just stick to a conventional wedding list, OK?
