They're not bloody babysitters!

I went to a friend's wedding a few years ago, held in a hotel. We were staying the night at the hotel and to look after my young daughter, my in-laws graciously offered to stay in the room with her during the wedding and the reception - until it finished. They also agreed to look after the bride's best friend's baby in there as well.
The first broigus was that they weren't allowed to order any food from room service - with the result that they were starving hungry by the end of the evening. I had to smuggle them up petite fours and mints. The second broigus was that as I went upstairs to check they were OK, I saw the bride's brother and his three small children, aged 4-8, about to go into the room. He wanted to dump his kids on my in-laws on the basis that if they were OK looking after two kids, then three more wouldn't make much of a difference!
Needless to say, a row broke out - and the bride took his side!
We lost touch soon after the wedding.
